Q. Could I have reception problems?
A. YES . There is occasional maintenance
with the dishes. I have
DISH Network and my personal reception
is almost trouble free and I believe
yours also should be the same. There
are 2 types of reception problems;
weather and installations.
1. Rain should not
bother but dark heavy thunder showers as
they approach can disrupt service from
2 to 5 minutes and in some rare cases 15 to
30 minutes. On rare occasion snow can
stick to a dish. You can do any of
the following; gently brush the snow off
the dish, wait for this type of snow to
slide off it does face South, you can
spray your dish with Pam oil or a silicone
spray to coat the dish, buy a dish
cover, call TV Man 622-1017, call
DISH NETWORK 1-800-333-3474, call
DIRECTV 1-800-531-5000.
2. Improper installation can cause
loss of service with any of the
following conditions: heat, cold, wind, rain & snow and sometimes
for no
apparent reason. This could be due to bad
fittings, bad wire, a piece of RG59 in
line, or bad alignment. Less often there
is equipment problems such as receivers
& LNBs. Remote problems can be
caused by the following; bad remote, bad
batteries, batteries installed wrong,
dog chewed remote, dropped remote, CFL
lights, remote antenna needs relocating
and radio transmitter devices in the
home. For service call TV Man
